High School Honors: Two-year standout at Albemarle High School under coach Rick Vrhovac...led team to 6-4 record three years in a row....earned honorable mention All-State honors as a senior when he rushed for over 1,700 yards...was named Central Virginia Player of the Year, district Player of the Year, and also was named first team All-Northwest Region, first team All-Commonwealth District, and first team All-Central Virginia...rushed for over 1,500 yards as a junior when he was second team All-Northwest Region, first team All-Western District, and first team All-Central Virginia...played in the Virginia state All-Star game...standout sprinter for track and field team, placing second in the 100 meters (10.67) at the 2000 AAA state meet....regional and district champion in the 100 meters and 200 meters...was ranked as one of the Top 20 high school sprinters in the nation...member of Patriot Athletic Leaders and Men on a Mission clubs... At Delaware: 2003: Outstanding young defensive back with exceptional speed...projected to be a full-time starter at cornerback after being a part-time starter as a true freshman...forms one of the top defensive secondary units in NCAA I-AA football...his 4.36 clocking in the 40-yard dash in spring drills was the best among all team members...posted four tackles in the spring game...2002: Joined DE Tom Parks and deep snapper Brett Wharton as the only true freshmen to see action...played in nine games with two starts vs. Northeastern and Maine...played key role as fifth back in passing situations...posted 11 tackles, including eight solo stops...had best game vs. James Madison when he had four tackles, intercepted a pass, and covered almost 50 yards to run down JMU's Jason Mallory at the one-yard line, avoiding a certain Dukes touchdown in a 23-10 win...also had three tackles vs. Northeastern and two vs. Maine...sat out consecutive games vs. Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and UMass late in season due to a hamstring injury. Personal: Roger Darrell Brown...born Feb. 9, 1984...son of Norman and Patricia Johnson...business major at Delaware...enjoyed a standout freshman season with the UD indoor and outdoor track and field team during the 2002-03 season...indoors, had the team's best times in the 60 meters (6.93) and 200 meters (22.29), won three meet individual titles, and qualified for the IC4A regionals...outdoors, had team's best time in the 200 meters (22.31) and second best time in the 100 meters (11.12)...placed second in the 100 meters, second in the 4 x 100 meter relay, and third in the 200 meters at the Colonial Athletic Association championships, leading Delaware to a second place finish...also qualified for the IC4A meet...cousin, Roger Allen, played college football at Elon College in 1997-01.
