High School Honors: Standout two-way lineman at Strath-Haven HS under head coach Kevin Clancy...led Strath-Haven to 15-0 record and to the Pennsylvania Class AAA state title in 1999...first team All-State offensive lineman...first team All-Southeast Pennsylvania, All-Tri-State, All-Philadelphia Inquirer, and All-Delaware County...earned All-Central League honors as both an offensive and defensive lineman...Big 33 Game nominee...honor student...also threw shot put and discus for track team and helped lead squad to Central League title...played baseball as a freshman...high school teammate of UD sophomore linebacker John Mulhern.

At Delaware: 2003: The Blue Hens' most versatile offensive linemen and one of the biggest at 6-3 and 300 lbs....can play all three offensive line positions and enters the season as the projected starter at center with the loss of two-year starter Matt Graviet to a career-ending ankle injury... joins four returning starters for what should be one of the top offensive line units in the Atlantic 10...has played in 10 career games...also expected to battle for spot as the Blue Hens' snapper on placements...2002: Earned second letter as a versatile performer... appeared in nine games with three starts...started at left guard vs. The Citadel and West Chester and started at center against Northeastern...led unit that ranked third in the Atlantic 10 in rushing offense (206.2) and allowed just 15 sacks, second best mark in the league...2001: Earned first varsity letter as a backup center and guard...appeared in just one game, vs. Massachusetts...2000: Did not see action and retained freshman eligibility.

Personal: Chris Joseph Edwards...born Oct. 4, 1981...son of Harry and Debbie Edwards...health and physical education major at Delaware...older brother, Tim, played football at Division II Millersville (Pa.) University.
