High School: Attended Remstalgymnasium High School in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany...with no formal high school program, played football on club and national teams...two-way lineman for Stuttgart Scorpion Juniors in 1998-2002, serving as team captain...two-year member of the Baden-Wuerttemberg All-Star team, serving as captain...starting right tackle for German Junior National Team in 2002...team was European runner-up in 2002...nominated for German National Senior Team...

At Delaware: First-ever Delaware recruit from Germany...outstanding athlete who has shown constant improvement in his three seasons in the United States...team’s tallest player at 6-foot-8...can play either tackle or guard and enters season projected as No. 2 left guard behind sophomore Greg Benson...one of Hens’ strongest players...No. 4 all-time at Delaware in the clean lift (325 lbs.), No. 7 in bench pressing 325 lbs. 25 times, and also had a 530 lb. squat lift...

2004: Second-year member of the squad...served entire season as backup offensive tackle to All-East senior Trip DelCampo but saw only action of season as a blocker on extra points in the NCAA I-AA quarterfinal loss to William & Mary...team went 9-4, won Atlantic 10 Conference title, and advanced to I-AA quarterfinals...

2003: Did not see action and retained freshman eligibility...team went 15-1, captured NCAA I-AA national title, and won Atlantic 10 Conference title...

Personal: Marco Florian Kristen...born Feb. 14, 1983...son of Wolfgang and Karin Kristen...brother, Manuel, was an exchange student at nearby Brandywine High School in Wilmington for the 2001-02 academic year...honor student as a business major at Delaware...served in German Army from October, 2002 until June, 2003....worked for Daimler Chrysler in Stuttgart, Germany the last two summers.
