High School: Attended Rutherford High School for two years before finishing career with two years at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ...competed in football, basketball, and baseball at Rutherford and played varsity as a freshman...concentrated on football only at Don Bosco, playing quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive end for coach Greg Toal...earned first team All-State and All-County honors as a senior wide receiver when he led team to state title...rated No. 19 best athlete in the East region by SuperPrep Magazine...caught 53 passes for 692 yards and eight touchdowns to lead team to 11-1 record as a senior...had 91 tackles, three sacks, and four interceptions to earn team defensive MVP honors...started at quarterback as a junior and led team to 7-4 record while throwing for 735 yards and five touchdowns...

At Delaware: Third-year transfer from the University of Cincinnati...senior who forms an outstanding tight end combination that includes returning starter Steve Selk along with Mike Mailey and Dominic Madigan...tight end with a wide receiver body...Hens’ top receiver among tight ends...outstanding athlete with good speed and size...also has the ability to handle deep snaps...did not take part in spring drills due to a left foot fracture...expected to be back at full strength for pre-season...

2004: Earned second letter as a part-time starter and full-time contributor at tight end...played in 12 games with four starts...missed William & Mary playoff game with ankle injury suffered in playoff win over Lafayette...was bothered by shoulder injury for much of the season...started games vs. New Hampshire, West Chester, Massachusetts, and Lafayette...team’s fifth leading receiver with 22 receptions for 149 yards (6.8 avg.) and one touchdown...22 receptions were the most for a Delaware tight end since John Yergey had 25 receptions in 1989...caught season-high five receptions for 29 yards vs. Massachusetts and had season-high 33 yards on four catches vs. West Chester and 33 yards on three receptions vs. Richmond...scored first career touchdown on a seven-yard pass from Sonny Riccio to open the scoring in early-season win over West Chester...

2003: Earned a letter as a sophomore in first season at Delaware after transferring from Cincinnati in August...was eligible immediately per NCAA transfer rule...appeared in 10 games during season, including all four playoff games as Hens captured NCAA I-AA title...was used primarily on special teams...did not catch a pass but returned a blocked punt 16 yards to set up a touchdown in comeback win over New Hampshire...

At Cincinnati:
2002: Lettered as a special teams player...handled long snapping duties while also returning two kickoffs and posting his only tackle vs. Ohio State...led team to New Orleans Bowl appearance vs. North Texas State...

2001: Sat out redshirt season to retain freshman eligibility...team advanced to Motor City Bowl vs. Toledo...

Personal: Justin D. LaForgia...born Aug. 30, 1982...son of Tony and Donna LaForgia...has one brother and one sister...has volunteered as an orderly in the emergency room in his hometown hospital...leadership in consumer economics major...would like to own a restaurant someday.
