High School: Earned 12 varsity letters in football, baseball, and basketball at Lincoln High School...standout quarterback in football at Lincoln for head coach Curt Agostinalli...completed 42 of 88 passes for 618 yards and six touchdown and rushed for 601 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior...threw for 1,353 yards and 15 touchdowns and ran for 454 yards and seven scores as a junior...also a standout baseball player as a shortstop...attended tryouts for the St. Louis Cardinals, Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins...batted .370 as a senior and led team to WPIAL championship...competed in American Legion All-Star Game...played forward in basketball...honor student...

At Delaware: Delaware’s starting quarterback for the second straight year after transfer from the University of Missouri...has strong arm and quick feet and looks to be much-improved from first season with the Hens in 2004...one of the league’s top returning signal-callers who will benefit from the return of four of the team’s top five receivers and two of the top three rushers...hard-nosed player and tough competitor who is not afraid to tuck the ball in and hit a defender head-on...will also serve as the team’s backup punter behind three-year starter Mike Weber...in just one season already ranks 14th all-time at Delaware in passing yards (2,698) and No. 8 in completions (259)...29-inch vertical jump and 235 lb. clean lift were best marks among Blue Hen quarterbacks during spring testing in 2004...completed 13 of 20 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown - a 44-yard scoring strike to Joe Bleymaier - in spring game...also rushed for a game-high 36 yards in the contest...

2004: Transferred to Delaware from Missouri during winter session and took part in spring drills...battled with sophomore Ryan Carty throughout spring drills and early in pre-season before earning starting spot...responded with an outstanding season, starting all 13 games and leading Delaware to a 9-4 record, the Atlantic 10 Conference title, and a berth in the NCAA I-AA quarterfinals...completed 259 of 443 passes for 2,698 yards and 16 touchdowns with 14 interceptions...completed 58.5 percent of his passes and had a 115.22 quarterback rating...threw for 207.5 yards per game...also rushed 129 times for 315 yards and four touchdowns with 2.4 average...had long throw of 62 yards (to David Boler) and 31 yards rushing...twice was named the Blue Hen Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Week...ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10 and 26th in NCAA I-AA in total offense (231.7) and was 11th in the A-10 and 60th in I-AA in passing efficiency (115.22)...set school records for completions in a game (33 vs. Maine), completions in a season (259), consecutive pass completions (13 vs. Maine), passing attempts in a game (51 vs. Maine), and passing attempts in a season (443)...415 yards passing vs. Maine was the third highest single game mark in UD history...had two 300+ passing games and six 200+ passing games...threw a touchdown pass in 10 straight games (sixth longest streak in UD history) at one point...went 107 straight passes without an interception (fourth longest streak in UD history) at one point and had another streak of 94 straight without a pick...completed 20 or more passes six times, including a school record 33 vs. Maine...top games included hitting 33 of 51 passes for 415 yards and one touchdown vs. Maine; 24 of 40 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns in regular season win over William & Mary, 27 of 48 passes for 292 yards and one touchdown vs. James Madison, and 24 of 41 for 262 yards and three touchdowns in I-AA quarterfinal loss to William & Mary...also threw for two touchdowns each vs. West Chester and Massachusetts...was sacked 19 times for 140 yards...ran 17 times for 74 yards and two touchdown in I-AA playoff win over Lafayette and ran 17 times for 70 yards vs. Massachusetts..threw six-yard touchdown pass to Joe Bleymaier with 6:09 left for winning touchdown in 21-19 win over Hofstra and the following week hit Bleymaier from 25 yards out with 4:41 left for a 31-28 win over William & Mary at Delaware Stadium...completed 8 of 13 passes for 152 yards and threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to Joe Bleymaier in spring game....At Missouri:

2003: No. 2 quarterback as a sophomore behind early Heisman Trophy candidate Brad Smith...team went 8-5, including a win over 10th ranked Nebraska, and lost in the Independence Bowl under head coach Gary Pinkel...saw action in 11 games as a backup quarterback and holder on placements...threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns, including throwing for 59 yards and a touchdown, in win over Ball State...threw for a touchdown off a fake field goal vs. Nebraska...

2002: Appeared in three games as team's No. 3 quarterback as a redshirt freshman...did not rush or attempt a pass...team went 5-7 overall...

2001: Sat out redshirt season and retained freshman eligibility...team went 3-8...

Personal: Santino "Sonny" Riccio (last name pronounced "reach-e-o")...born July 23, 1982 in New Castle, PA...son of Vince and Patricia Riccio...has two brothers and one sister...honor student as a sport management major at Delaware who worked internship with UD athletics department during the winter...has worked in parents' restaurant during the summers.
