At Penn State: Two-year team member as a backup linebacker at Penn State for head coach Joe Paterno…two-year teammate of current UD offensive lineman Joel Holler at Penn State…2003: Did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility…team went 3-9…2004: Saw action in eight games for team that went 4-7…played on special teams and recorded one tackle each vs. Ohio State and Northwestern.

Personal: Michael Peter Sothern…born June 2, 1985…son of Michael and Theresa Sothern…arts and sciences major…has a younger brother and two younger sisters…both parents are graduates of LaSalle College.
