High School: Three-year starter at Southeastern Pennsylvania power North Penn High School under head coach Mike Pettine...played halfback and defensive back and also returned kicks...earned first team All-Suburban One League honors on both offense and defense as a senior...honorable mention All-State pick in football as a senior...led team to three-year record of 25-7 during his career...played in prestigious Pennsylvania East vs. West High School All-Star Game...was a Maxwell Club Award nominee...outstanding sprinter in track and field...was a four-time letterwinner and a three-time state qualifier in track and field...earned All-Suburban One honors in track and field as a junior and senior...led North Penn to district outdoor team title in 2002 when he placed first in the 400 meter relay, second in the 110 meter hurdles, and third in the 300 meter hurdles...advanced to the state meet where he led North Penn to team title while placing third in the 400 meter relay and 1,600 meter relay and fourth in the 110 meter hurdles...has run a 4.4 40-yard dash...honor roll student...earned AAA Excellence Award for achievement in athletics and academics...

At Delaware: Two-year letterwinner who begins his second season as a member of Delaware’s defensive secondary after playing wide receiver...has appeared in 22 career games in a reserve role...speedster who is projected as team’s No. 2 cornerback behind returning starters Roger Brown and Rashaad Woodard...could also add solid support on special teams and can also return kicks...posted a game-high eight tackles in spring game, including for loss...

2004: Earned second letter as a backup defensive back...moved over to defensive side of the ball in spring drills...part of defensive secondary that ranked third in the Atlantic 10 in passing efficiency defense (108.46) and No. 4 in passing defense (153.9)...appeared in seven games, all in a reserve role...played in first three games of season, missed the next six due to injuries, and appeared in the final four games...did not record a tackle...

2003: Earned letter in first season as a redshirt freshman...played in 15 games as a backup wide receiver and on kick returns...did not see action vs. Wofford... ranked eighth on team with nine receptions for 56 yards (6.2 avg.) and no touchdowns...reached career highs with four receptions for 27 yards vs. Rhode Island...also caught three passes for 10 yards vs. New Hampshire when he played across from older brother Aaron...ranked second on team in kickoff returns with 10 for 178 yards (17.8 avg.)...returned two kicks for 56 yards vs. West Chester and had career-long 34-yard kick-off return vs. Massachusetts...caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Brad Michael in the spring game...

2002: Began year as a defensive back but was moved to wide receiver to add depth at the position...made travel squad for several games but did not see game action and retained his freshman eligibility...

Personal: Zachary Taylor "Zac” Thomas...born April 6, 1984...son of James and Barbara Thomas...leadership in consumer economics major at Delaware...youngest of three children....older brother, Aaron, was a standout defensive back at Atlantic 10 foe New Hampshire in 2001-04...the two faced each other in games the last two seasons.
