High School: Began his high school career at Caravel Academy in Bear, DE before competing his final season at Delaware state football power William Penn High School for head coach Bill Cole...attended Caravel for three years and competed in football, wrestling, and baseball...competed in football, wrestling, and baseball as a senior at William Penn...earned first team All-State honors as a linebacker as a senior in 2002 at William Penn, leading the team to the state Division I title...led wrestling team to Blue Hen Conference title and was third in the conference at the 189 lb. class...played outfield in baseball...earned three letters each in football, wrestling, and baseball at Caravel...served as captain of football and wrestling squads...second in conference in wrestling as a junior...led baseball team to state championship game as a junior...National Honor Society...school treasurer as a junior.

At Delaware: Second-year member of team after transfer from Ivy League football power University of Pennsylvania...will be eligible for action for the first time after sitting out one year due to NCAA transfer rules...will have junior eligibility...hard-nosed linebacker who has outstanding nose for the ball and is a hard hitter...projected to take over starting middle linebacker spot with the graduation of three-year starter John Mulhern...enjoyed an outstanding spring and was named Blue Hen Touchdown Club Most Improved Defensive Player by the coaching staff...recorded four tackles in Blue-White spring game...2005: Took part in practice but was not eligible for game participation due to NCAA transfer rules.

At Pennsylvania: Lettered two seasons as a linebacker at NCAA I-AA University of Pennsylvania for head coach Al Bagnoli...appeared in 15 games...2004: Backup linebacker who appeared in all 10 games and led Quakers to an 8-2 record...collected seven tackles, including one for loss...2003: Played in five games as a backup linebacker for team that went 10-0 and captured the Ivy League championship...did not record a tackle.

Personal: Joseph Theodore “J.T.” Laws IV...born July 22, 1985...son of Joseph “Ted” and Donna Laws...honor student as a health and exercise science major with a concentration in exercise physiology...works at Pro Sports Acceleration last summer...would like to enter physical therapy field after graduation...has a younger sister...father played football at Delaware in 1973-75 and earned his degree in 1976...cousin, Chris Moxley, played baseball at West Chester University.
