High School: Four-year standout for coach Vinnie Scott at nearby St. Mark's High School...also played baseball for two seasons and ran track as a senior...three-time All-State selection who played wide receiver, running back, and defensive back during his career...three-time All-Catholic League selection...team lost in state championship game in 2002 and 2003...team went 12-1 in 2002...played in Blue-Gold High School All-Star Game at Delaware Stadium in June, 2004...compiled 4,000 career total yards...rushed for 2,200 career yards, had 1,100 yards receiving, and 800 yards in returns...scored 47 touchdowns during his career.

At Delaware: Fourth-year team member as a junior and a two-year letterwinner...will again be a key member of the Blue Hen wide receiver corps that often goes three and four wide... projected as No. 2 receiver behind sophomore Mark Duncan to open the season...has appeared in 15 career games with four starts and caught 12 passes for 98 yards (8.2 avg.) with no touchdowns... versatile athlete who can also handle holder responsibilities on field goal and extra point attempts and can also return punts if needed... runs passing routes well and possesses good speed...caught on pass for nine yards in Blue-White Spring Game in April...2006: Earned second letter as a backup wide receiver... appeared in eight games overall and got starting nod in four contest - vs. Albany, Northeastern, Hofstra, and Richmond...ranked No. 7 on the squad in receiving with 11 catches for 92 yards (8.4 avg.)...posted career-high for receptions and yards with five catches for 40 yards vs. Hofstra...also caught four passes for 29 yards vs. Albany and a career-long 15-yard reception vs. Richmond... team went 5-6 for head coach K.C. Keeler...caught one pass for six yards in Blue-White spring game...2005: Earned first varsity letter as a redshirt freshman...appeared in seven games, all in a reserve role at wide receiver...saw first career action in first three games of season as Hens went 3-0 and later played in four of the final five games...first and only catch of season was a six-yarder at Maine...team went 6-5...had an excellent spring and caught three passes for 25 yards in the spring game, including a seven-yard scoring pass from Jarryd Moyer on the last play of the game...2004: Did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility...team went 9-4, won the Atlantic 10 title, and advanced to the NCAA I-AA quarterfinals.

Personal: William Jonathan "Jon" Heydt ("hite")...born Aug. 20, 1985...son of William and Karen Heydt...history major at Delaware...has two older sisters...sister, Lauren, is a Delaware graduate...father, wrestled in college at Widener (PA) University...is an avid skiier...was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma as a freshman at St. Mark’s High School but disease went into remission after chemotherapy...has started to become active with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society programs within the state of Delaware.
