High School: Versatile two-way player who was a standout at both tight end and linebacker at Freedom High School under head coach Jim Morgans...three-year starter who served as team captain as a senior...two-time All-conference selection at linebacker and was a two-time All-Area selection by both the Allentown Morning Call and Easton Express Times...for his career, posted 207 tackles, including 21 for loss...added 12 sacks, intercepted five passes, and recovered seven fumbles...as a tight end, caught 47 career passes for 735 yards and 10 touchdowns...led team to district playoffs for the first time in school history as a senior when he was named team MVP...played in the McDonald’s Lehigh Valley All-Star Classic in June and the prestigious Big 33 Game All-Star Game in July...also lettered four years as a catcher in baseball and was a two-time team MVP...lettered three years as a center in basketball...team captain as a senior...named school’s Outstanding Senior Male Athlete.

At Delaware: Fifth-year senior and the veteran of the Blue Hens’ improved defensive line unit...has played at both end and tackle during his career but is projected to start at left tackle this fall...has good combination of speed and strength and is one of team’s most intense players...has appeared in 26 career games, the most among all Blue Hen defensive players, with 13 starts...has posted 44 career tackles (23 solo) to go with seven tackles for loss, three quarterback sacks, three pass breakups, and one interception...sat out spring drills with an injury but is back at 100 percent this fall...three-year letterwinner who also can serve as deep snapper on punts if needed...2006: Started all 11 games on the defensive line and led all UD down linemen in tackles and was No. 6 on the team overall...joined LB KeiAndre Hepburn as the only two players on defense to start every game during the season...started first two games at left tackle before switching to left end...registered 34 tackles (27 solo) to go with five tackles for loss and one sack...also had an interception, broke up a pass, and recovered a fumble...had career-high five stops vs. Towson and added four tackles each vs. Albany, Hofstra, and Richmond...had a sack vs. Hofstra and two tackles for loss each vs. Hofstra and New Hampshire...recovered a fumble vs. Richmond and had first career interception vs. Villanova and returned it for five yards...interception was first by a UD defensive linemen since the 2003 season...earned Blue Hen Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance vs. Villanova...team went 5-6 under head coach K.C. Keeler...sat out spring practice with a thigh injury...2005: Appeared in nine games overall and started two contests at right left tackle vs. Lehigh and Holy Cross...did not play vs. West Chester and Towson due to a knee injury...had nine tackles, including five solo stops, for the season and added two sacks for 10 yards and two pass breakups...enjoyed best game in season opener vs. Lehigh when he recorded a career-high three tackles, including two sacks for 10 yards, and added two pass breakups against his hometown college...also had two tackles vs. Maine...led team to 6-5 record...enjoyed a fine spring and had three tackles, including two for loss, and broke up a pass in the spring game...2004: Earned first varsity letter as a backup defensive end as Blue Hens went 9-4, won the Atlantic 10 title, and advanced to the NCAA I-AA quarterfinals...played behind All-American Chris Mooney at end...appeared in six games in a reserve role, seeing action vs. New Hampshire, West Chester, Massachusetts, Maine, Hofstra, and William & Mary...missed last five games of season with injuries...posted only tackle vs. West Chester...had one tackle and one pass breakup in spring game...2003: Sat out redshirt season and retained freshman eligibility...one of the team’s top scout players....team went 15-1 and captured the NCAA I-AA national championship and Atlantic 10 title.

Personal: Jeremy Joseph Kametz (“kuh-metz”)...born Oct. 7, 1983...son of John and Brenda Kametz...has one older brother...history major at Delaware...enjoys golfing and fishing in spare time...cousin, Mike Polaha, was a high-scoring all-league guard in basketball for Lehigh University and led school to 1988 NCAA Tournament...has shared apartment with offensive linemen, Greg Benson, Rich Beverley and Mark Ciavirella the last three years.
