High School: Three-sport standout at Tatnall School in Wilmington, DE where he played football, lacrosse, and basketball...captained each team...four-year starter in football for head coach and former Delaware tight end Jody Russell...earned first team all-conference honors as a safety and linebacker three times...standout goalkeeper in lacrosse...led team to perfect 18-0 record and a state championship in 2003...earned first team All-State honors in lacrosse...also played forward in basketball...member of Tatnall Student Union.

At Delaware: Valuable member of the Blue Hen special teams unit...walk-on who is believed to be one of the few college players at any level to double as a deep snapper on punts and holder on placements...will handle both duties for the second straight year this fall...dependable deep snapper who has yet to have a punt blocked...had one tackle in Blue-White Spring Game in April...2006: Earned letter in first varsity season as he handled all deep snapping duties on punts and holding responsibilities on placements in all 11 games...Delaware did not have a punt blocked all season in 46 attempts and the Blue Hens converted 35 of 37 extra points and 8 of 14 field goals...team went 5-6 under head coach K.C. Keeler... transferred to Delaware after one year at CAA member Northeastern University.

At Northeastern: 2005: Attended Northeastern but did not play football...was a member of the Northeastern club lacrosse team.

Personal: Edward Thomas “Ted” Shea...born May 15, 1985...son of Thomas and Mary Shea...has two older sisters...mother is a graduate of Delaware...business major at Delaware...works as a laborer during the summer...cousin, Mick Purzycki, is currently a sophomore wide receiver for Delaware and his uncle, Mike Purzycki, was a standout wide receiver at Delaware in 1963-66, earning first team All-Middle Atlantic honors as a senior and recording 98 receptions for 1,390 yards for his career.
