High School: Graduated from Charles Jordan High School in June, 2006 but did not attend Delaware until the following spring...led Jordan team to 10-4 record as a senior in 2005 for head coach Mike Briggs...team advanced to the third round of the state playoffs...led team to state playoffs as a junior in 2004...earned first team All-PAC Conference honors and all-area honors as a defensive lineman in 2005 when he was named team Most Valuable Player...also earned all-conference honors as a junior...standout in track and field who earned all-conference honors in the shot put and discus his final three seasons.

At Delaware: Second-year member of the squad...adds solid support at defensive tackle...will battle fellow sophomore Demitrius Hester for the starting spot at left tackle with the graduation of senior Jeremy Kametz...rugged player who is effective at clogging up the middle.

2007 Season: Greyshirt who was one of seven true freshmen to see action for the Blue Hens...led team to 11-4 record and a berth in the FCS national championship game under head coach K.C. Keeler...played in 14 games at defensive tackle in his first season at Delaware...got first career start in NCAA playoff win over Delaware State at Delaware Stadium...recorded nine tackles on the season, including six solo stops...posted a career-high three tackles vs. Rhode Island and added two each vs. West Chester and Monmouth...did not play vs. Northeastern...had one tackle in the spring game.

Personal: Siddiq (“suh-deek”) Abdullah Hasan Haynes...born March 24, 1988...son of Samiyah and Shareef Haynes...political science major with a minor in journalism at Delaware...would like to be a broadcaster after graduation....worked at Pro Sport Acceleration last summer...enjoys playing video games...one of the team’s most community-service oriented student-athletes...volunteer helper for ABC TV’s Extreme Home Makeover in Wilmington during the spring, 2008...one of seven children...cousin, Darren Carrington, played defensive back in the National Football League in 1989-96 with Denver, Detroit, San Diego, Jacksonville, and Oakland.
