High School: Earned eight letters in football and wrestling...standout at Nutley High School where he played quarterback and outside linebacker for head coach Steve DiGregorio...three-year standout at Nutley High School where he served as team captain as a senior...as a quarterback, earned second team All-State Group 3 honors as a junior and senior....also earned first team all-league honors three times and first team all-area laurels three times...first team All-Essex County as a sophomore and senior and earned all-county honors as a linebacker as a junior...invited to play in state North-South All-Star Game...also a four-year varsity letterwinner in wrestling...as a wrestler, posted a career record of 99-19, was a two-time Essex County champion, and was a two-time state qualifier and a district champion...honor roll student.

At Delaware: One of three quarterbacks on the Blue Hen roster and the lone holdover from the fall season...redshirt freshman who will battle first-year transfers Robbie Schoenhoft (Ohio State) for starting spot as the Blue Hens replace All-American and Baltimore Ravens first round draft pick Joe Flacco who enjoyed a record-setting season in 2007...vying to become first UD recruit to start a game at quarterback for the Hens at quarterback since Mike Connor in 2002...powerfully-built signal caller who will not be afraid to put his head down and run...completed 9 of 17 passes for 119 yards with one interception and threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Mark Duncan splitting time with Schoenhoft in the spring game.

2007 Season: No. 4 on the depth chart at quarterback but did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility...was in uniform as a member of Blue Hen traveling squad at the FCS national championship game...team posted an 11-4 record and a berth in the FCS national title game for head coach K.C. Keeler.

Personal: Louie Joseph “Lou” Ritacco (“ruh-taco”)....born Jan. 6, 1989...son of Lou and Jozet Ritacco...criminal justice major...parents own a restaurant...has worked as a landscaper during the summer...oldest of three children...avid New York Yankees fan.
