2007 Season: Earned second letter as team’s holder on placements and deep snapper on punts...played in all 15 games as team went 11-4 and advanced to the FCS national title game under head coach K.C. Keeler...was limited in snapping duties at mid-season due to back injury...handled all holding duties during the season and played a key role in Jon Striefsky earning All-American honors...team had just six misses, including two blocks, in 91 placement attempts and no blocks in 49 punt attempts...had one tackle in spring game.
2006 Season: Earned letter in first varsity season as he handled all deep snapping duties on punts and holding responsibilities on placements in all 11 games...Delaware did not have a punt blocked all season in 46 attempts and the Blue Hens converted 35 of 37 extra points and 8 of 14 field goals...team went 5-6...transfered to Delaware after one year at CAA member Northeastern.
At Northeastern: 2005 Season: Attended Northeastern but did not play football...member of the Northeastern club lacrosse team.
Personal: Edward Thomas “Ted” Shea...born May 15, 1985...son of Thomas and Mary Shea...has two older sisters...mother is a graduate of Delaware...finance major at Delaware...works as a laborer during the summer...cousin, Mick Purzycki, is currently a junior wide receiver for Delaware and his uncle, Mike Purzycki, was a standout wide receiver at Delaware in 1963-66, earning first team All-Middle Atlantic honors as a senior and recording 98 receptions for 1,390 yards for his career. |
