High School: Standout wide receiver and defensive back for head coach Brian Beaty at Osbourn Park High School...led team to a 9-3 record and a district title in 2005...team went 8-2 his sophomore year...recorded 63 tackles and two interceptions and also returned a fumble for a touchdown in 2005...also caught 37 passes for 511 yards and three touchdowns, returned to punts for touchdowns and two kickoffs for touchdowns...first team All-State as a defensive back and honorable mention All-State as a wide receiver...Cedar Run District Defensive Player of the Year in 2005 when he also earned first team notice both ways..first team all-area at wide receiver, punt returner, kick returner, and defensive back...honorable mention All-Met on defense...two-time team captain and team MVP....member of school’s track and field team, running 100 meters and competing in long jump and triple jump.

At Delaware: Fourth-year junior...talented defender who looks to return at full strength after missing all but one game in 2008 with an injury...has played in 20 career games with 15 starts...veteran who will return to starting spot at strong safety and give the Blue Hens one of the nation's top defensive secondary units...has good size and speed to patrol the secondary...has posted career totals of 121 tackles (86 solo), five pass breakups, one interceptions, and 2.5 tackles for loss.

2008 Season: Was looking to have a breakout year but saw action only in the season opener...injured his knee in practice the week after the opener and missed the rest of the season and spring drills...started at strong safety vs. Maryland and played key role in narrow 14-7 loss...recorded nine tackles, including eight solo stops vs. the Terps...team finished with a 4-8 record.

2007 Season: Played and started 14 games at strong safety, leading Delaware to 11-4 record and a berth in the FCS national title game...missed Monmouth game with an injury...ranked No. 2 on the team in tackles with 105, including a team-high 73 solo stops...ranked 26th in the CAA in tackles with 7.5 per game...had 2.5 tackles for loss, broke up five passes, recovered one fumble, forced two fumbles, and intercepted one pass...named Blue Hen Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Week vs. New Hampshire and Northeastern...recorded six or more tackles 10 times with career-high 13 stops vs. New Hampshire...also had 12 stops vs. Rhode Island and Navy and 10 tackles vs. Northeastern and Northern Iowa...had interception vs. Northern Iowa and forced a fumble and recovered one vs. Navy...had six tackles in spring game...changed number from 4 to 48 prior to the season.

2006 Season: Contributed on UD defensive unit to earn letter...one of six true freshmen to see action...appeared at safety in passing situations and on special teams...appeared in five games and made his collegiate debut vs. Northeastern when injuries forced several newcomers to burn their redshirt year...recorded seven tackle for the season, including five solo stops...had career-high four tackles in collegiate debut vs. Northeastern...team went 5-6.

Personal: Anthony Eugene Bratton...born Dec. 11, 1987...son of Anthony and Stephanie Bratton...fitness management major at Delaware...cousin, Franklin Weaver, played football at Michigan and in the Arena Football League.
