High School: Played football, baseball, track, basketball and golf at Laurel High School...two-year starter at middle linebacker and tight end...All-Blue Hen Conference linebacker in 2007...named Academic All-Conference three straight seasons...Laurel Defensive Most Valuable Player in 2007...played in Blue-Gold High School All-Star Football Game at Delaware Stadium during the summer...National Honor Society...co-Valedictorian.
At Delaware: Tenacious player in third-year with the team…walk-on who has become a fixture on UD special teams…has added bulk to frame and enters fall camp as a linebacker after experimenting with the change in the spring…expected to add depth to the linebacker unit and continue to contribute on special teams.
2009 Season: Second-year member of the team earned first letter…contributed heavily on special teams and as a reserve defensive back…played in all 11 games and finished the season with five tackles…recorded three solo tackles on the year, all coming in win over Delaware State…also posted tackles vs. Towson and Hofstra…team went 6-5 under head coach K.C. Keeler.
2008 Season: Did not see game action as a true freshman and retained freshman eligibility...team went 4-8.
Personal: Cody Garrett Bristow...born August 1, 1990...son of Wade and Janine Bristow... sport management major at Delaware...hopes to be an athletic director and football coach...mother is a registered nurse...has two brothers...enjoys going to the beach in his spare time.
