
High School: Played football and baseball at Cardinal McCarrick High School in South Amboy, N.J. for two years before transfering to Bishop Ahr High School in Edison, N.J....played football and baseball and competed in track at Bishop Ahr...earned four letters in football...earned honorable mention All-Area honors as a junior and senior at Bishop Ahr as a defensive lineman.
At Delaware: Second-year member of the squad as a walk-on...has sophomore eligibility...will lend solid backup support to a deep Blue Hen defensive line unit and is slated to be the No. 2 left defensive end behind Chris Morales and Scott von Duyke entering pre-season drills...recorded two tackles in 2009 spring game, including a sack for three yards.
2008 Season: Saw action in one game as a true freshman at defensive end...entered the game in the fourth quarter in November loss to eventual national champion Richmond but did not record a tackle...one of only three true freshmen to see action during the season.
Personal: Nicholas Alexander "Nick" Flugrad...born December 27, 1989...son of Dr. George Flugrad...undecided on major at Delaware...worked in construction during the summer...hopes to go to medical school...father is an oral surgeon...has two brothers...high school football teammate (at Bishop Ahr) of Towson center Dan Hurley.
