High School: Played offensive tackle and nose guard at Paulsboro High School for head coach Glen Howard...led team to four-year record of 38-10...team advanced to playoffs all four years, winning group titles in 2005 and 2006 (10-2)...earned all-group honors on defense three times and was named to the 2005 All-South Jersey team on defense...as a senior collected 75 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three sacks, two caused fumbles, and one interception...for his career, posted 113 solo tackles, 88 assisted tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and seven sacks...selected to play in Adam Taliaferro All-Star Game...also competed in wrestling where he won four district titles, was state runner-up in 2006, and placed third in the state in 2005...posted record of 28-2 as a senior and was 122-9 for his career...team won four State Group 1 team titles.

At Delaware: Third-year team member and a two-year letterwinner...outstanding run-stopper who clogs up the middle with his size and strength...charismatic player who plays with great emotion....expected to take over full-time starting spot at left tackle entering pre-season drills...has appeared in 26 career games and recorded 40 tackles, including seven stops for a loss...posted four tackles in 2009 spring game, including a sack and one other tackle for loss.

2008 Season: Earned second letter as a part-time starter at defensive tackle...played in all 12 games and started nine contests...recorded 31 total tackles, including 11 solo stops...recorded five tackles for losses of 11 yards...also had a pass breakup and recovered a fumble...came on late in the season with best games, recording a career-high eight tackles vs. No. 1 James Madison and seven more against Villanova...also posted four tackles against Richmond and three vs. Maryland in the season opener...took part in two tackles for loss in games vs. Maryland, West Chester, and Villanova...recovered a fumble against Villanova.

2007 Season: Freshman who made a strong impact on Delaware defense as a back-up defensive tackle...one of seven true freshmen to see action during the season...appeared in 14 games in a backup role, including playing a key role in all four FCS post-season playoff games...did not play vs. Northeastern...collected nine tackles, including five solo stops...had three tackles vs. Rhode Island and two vs. Monmouth...had two tackles for loss (vs. Rhode Island and Delaware State)....forced a fumble vs. Navy...one of four defensive linemen in recruiting class.

Personal: Demitrius Artanis Hester...born July 20, 1989 in Philadelphia...son of Ellis and Valerie Hester...University studies major at Delaware...enjoys fishing and playing video games in spare time...brother, Ellis, is a wrestler at Delaware State University...aunt, Linda Hester, was a four-year standout in basketball at LaSalle University and is a member of the school’s Hall of Fame...father graduated from the University of Pennsylvania...volunteer helper for ABC TV’s Extreme Home Makeover in Wilmington during the spring, 2008...worked at Blue Hen Youth Football Camp as a counselor during the summer.
