High School: Played running back, quarterback and defensive back at Poly Prep Country Day School for head coach Dino Mangiero...high school teammate of fellow UD junior Eddie Lugo...led team to 11-6 record over the last two seasons...first team All-New York City at running back and cornerback as a junior in 2005 and second team All-Brooklyn as a quarterback and cornerback in 2006...earned team’s Jack James Memorial Trophy as team Most Valuable Player each of the past two seasons...rushed for 972 yards and passed for 650 yards as a quarterback in 2006 when he also had two interceptions on defense...rushed for 1,172 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior in 2005 when he also had six interceptions...also competed in track and field and was team Most Valuable Player and an all-league selection as a junior...three-time All-Ivy Conference indoor and outdoor all-star selection...competed in Yale Cup...earned school’s Emmett Gold Toutt Cup as the most improved senior in academics.

At Delaware: Third-year team member as a junior...has played in 26 career games and recorded 65 tackles, two interceptions, and five pass breakups...will be a second-year starter at cornerback where he teams with fellow defensive backs Charles Graves, Anthony Walters, and Anthony Bratton to form of the top defensive secondary units in the nation...has outstanding coverage skills with good speed and hands...also a key component of Blue Hen special teams unit...is slated to take over punt return duties for four-year regular Aaron Love...had two tackles and a pass breakup in 2009 spring game.

2008 Season: Had a breakout sophomore season as a key member of the Delaware defensive secondary...began season in a backup role but was pressed into starting action at cornerback in the second week of the season when Anthony Walters moved to safety due to an injury to Anthony Bratton...played in all 12 games and started the final 10 contests...ranked No. 8 on the team in tackles with 47, including 37 solo stops...also had one tackle for loss, intercepted two passes - returning both for touchdowns - breaking up five passes and recovering a fumble...posted a career-high eight tackles each vs. Maine and William & Mary and six each vs. Furman and Villanova...had lone tackle for loss vs. Maine...returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown in 38-7 win over Albany to earn Blue Hen Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Week honors...later returned an interceptions 57 yards for a touchdown against Richmond, a game in which he also recovered a fumble...became just the fifth player in UD history, and first since 1991, to return two interceptions for a touchdown in the same season...also became one of only 10 players to return two for a touchdown in a career...also served as team's backup punt returner behind Love and averaged 4.8 yards on six returns with a team long return of 22 yards against James Madison.

2007 Season: One of only seven true freshmen to see action for Blue Hens...led team to an 11-4 record and a berth in the FCS national championship game...collected 18 tackles, including 12 solo stops...played in 14 games in a backup role...did not play in NCAA semifinal win over Southern Illinois due to a hamstring injury but returned for the national championship game...posted season-high four tackles each vs. Monmouth and James Madison and two each vs. West Chester and New Hampshire...forced a fumble in collegiate debut vs. William & Mary...one of four defensive backs in 2007 Delaware recruiting class.

Personal: Tyrone Daniel Grant...born Jan. 31, 1989...son of Tyrone and Tawana Grant...one of four children...business management major at Delaware...would like to own a business after graduation...has worked as a counselor at high school during the summer months...hobbies include listening to music, watching movies, and collecting sneakers.
