Jared Ambrose, who helped lead Shepherd University to national prominence in NCAA Division II football over three seasons, was named a graduate assistant coach with the University of Delaware football staff in July, 2007. He will begin his third season on the UD staff in 2009.
Thanks to a much-improved defense and a high-powered offense that featured six All-Americans, he led the Blue Hens to another outstanding season in 2007 when Delaware went 11-4 and advanced to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision title game.
Ambrose, 26, a native of Middletown, Md., earned his degree in athletic coaching and officiating at Shepherd (W.V.) College in May, 2007 and is pursuing a master's degree in exceptional children and youth special education at Delaware.
