University of Delaware senior Bryan Boatwright will begin his fourth season with the Blue Hen football staff as an undergraduate student assistant for the 2009 season.
Boatwright, a native of Weston, Fla., will continue to work with the Blue Hen offensive lineman and offensive line coach Damian Wroblewski. He is pursuing his degree in leisure studies at Delaware.
A standout football player and wrestler at St. Thomas Aquinas, Boatwright joined the Delaware football team as a walk-on in 2003 and was a member of the squad for two seasons as a defensive lineman before an injury ended his career. He worked with UD football equipment manager Jon Helbig and his staff in 2005-06 before joining the coaching staff.
While at St. Thomas Aquinas, Boatwright lettered in football as a senior and led the squad to a second place finish at the state tournament. He was a three-year letterwinner in wrestling, won two conference titles, and placed third in the state tournament as a senior.
