The University of Delaware came up on the short end of another wild Atlantic-10 contest today as it lost to William & Mary 52-45. The loss dropped No. 6 Delaware's record to 4-2 (2-2), while No. 12 William & Mary moved to 5-1 (3-1). The Blue Hens fell behind late when Mike Cook had a four-yard touchdown run with 6:05 left in the game to put the Tribe up 52-45. Delaware had an opportunity late in the game to tie the score, but the Blue Hens saw a last ditch 4th and seven Matt Nagy pass get intercepted by Jimmy Cerminaro in the end zone to end their three-game-winning streak. The game was a close affair the whole day as neither team held more than a touchdown lead throughout the game. The two teams combined for a 38 point third quarter outburst. William & Mary quarterback Mike Cook led the Tribe offense to 537 total yards. Cook went 24-31 with 313 yards passing and three touchdown passes. Cook also ran for three touchdowns on the day. Delaware senior spread end Eddie Conti had his second straight 200-yard receiving game, catching a career-high 13 passes for 207 yards and at ouchdown along with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown which was his first of the season. Nagy finished the game going 23-38 with 349 yards, four touchdowns and 3 interceptions. All were career-highs. Nagy set a UD record with his second straight 300-yard passing effort. William & Mary running back Hameen Ali paced the Tribe on the ground as he rushed for 177 yards and one touchdown. Lamont Watson posted a careerhi 17 tackles for the Hens.
