Maguire Leads Blue
Hens to Sixth Place Finish
WESTOVER, MD Terry Maguire (Cornwall,
NY HS) shot a three-round total of 236 to place 18th overall
and lead the University of Delaware golf team to a sixth
place finish at the Towson University Invitational Tuesday
at Great Hope Golf Club.
Binghamton (NY) won the team title with a team score of
904 to outdistance Columbia (918), Army (924), Towson Black
(933), Hofstra (943), and Delaware (951) in the 12-team
field.
Maguire fired rounds of 81 and 74 Monday and followed
with an 81 Tuesday to finish tied for 18th place with a
three-round total of 236.
Also for the Hens, Mike Ladden (79-75-84=238) and
Eric Stepanian (82-78-78=238) tied for 22nd place,
Mark Swinger (81-80-78) tied for 25th place, and
Graig OBrien (81-84-84=249) placed 44th.
Binghamton teammates Adam Fuchs and Hal Berman both tied
for medalist honors with scores of 223 but Fuchs won the
one-hole playoff to take the individual title.
Columbias Scott Grossman was third overall with a
total of 224.
