OWINGS MILLS, MD -- The University
of Delaware men's golf team closed out the 1999 fall season
with a seventh place finish at the Caves Valley Invitational
Monday at Caves Valley Country Club.
Delaware, which served as host of the
event, shot a two-day total of 655 to place seventh in the
10-team field. Temple won the team title with a score of 619
while Towson was second with 632 followed by Villanova
(633), George Washington (636), and UMBC (645).
Leading the Blue Hens was Mike
Ladden who fired a two-day total of 80-79=159 over the
6,720-yard, par 71 course to place tied for 13th. Also for
the Hens, Mark Swinger was 21st (87-76=163), Jason
Phinney was 29th (87-80=167), Terry Maguire was
36th (81 88=169), and Eric Stepanian was 39th
(86-86=172.
Chris Bartolacci of Temple was the
individual medalist, shooting 71-72=143 to win by eight
strokes.
