CENTER VALLEY, PA – Mike Ladden and Terry Maguire tied for 17th place overall with two day totals of 151 to lead the University of Delaware golf team to an eight place team finish at the Stabler Invitational hosted by Lehigh University Saturday at Center Valley Golf Club.

Rutgers won the 17-team, 36-hole event with a team score of 576 to down runner-up Villanova by 15 strokes at the 6,916-yard, par 72 course. Princeton was third followed by Penn and American. Delaware shot a two-day total of 617 to tie with host Lehigh for eighth place.

Ladden, a senior captain, shot 74-77=151 and Maguire fired rounds of 71 and 80 for 151 to tie for 17th overall. Maguire’s round of 71 Friday is the lowest for a Blue Hen golfer this fall.

Rutgers’ Ryan McDonald took medalist honors, shooting a six under 138 (70-68), winning by six strokes over a trio of golfers, including teammate Kevin Campana (74-70=144).

Also for the Blue Hens, Mark Swinger tied for 38th at 76-80=156, Eric Stepanian tied for 49th at 72-77=159, and Gerry Newell placed tied for 84th at 86-88=174 in his first collegiate tournament.
