Delaware Gold Places 5th;
Three Hens Shoot 78 to tie for 13th

DOVER, DE -- The University of
Delaware golf team opened the 2001-02 season by placing
fifth at the Wesley College Invitational at Maple Dale Golf
Club Wednesday afternoon.
The match marked the first outing for the
Blue Hens under new head coach Mike Keogh. Delaware's
Gold team placed fifth out of 16 teams while the Delaware
Blue team finished seventh.
Host Wesley won the tournament with a
team score of 294 followed by the College of New Jersey
(303), West Chester (308), Franklin & Marshall (311),
and Delaware Gold and Western Maryland (320).
West Chester's Ron Nattle won the team
title with a three under par 68 while Adam Haba and Andy
Ferrario of Wesley, Al Lapinski of College of New Jersey,
and Nick Leigh of Franklin & Marshall all tied for
second at 72.
Delaware's Terry Maguire, Dan
Spiker, and Robert Ellrich all shot 78 to tie for
13th overall.
