Miller Leads Blue Hens with
27th Place Finish
REHOBOTH BEACH, DE -- The
University of Delaware men's golf team placed seventh out of
10 teams at the George Washington University Invitational
Monday at King's Creek Country Club.
The one-day, 36-hole tournament was won
by Binghamton which shot 298 and 299 for a total of 597,
five strokes better than runner-up Navy Blue (602). Iona was
third followed by host George Washington A, Columbia, George
Washington B, Delaware, Fairfield, Mt. St. Mary's, and Navy
Gold. Delaware shot 322 and 317 to finish at 639.
Sophomore Chase Miller led
Delaware by placing 27th overall, shooting 80 and 79 for a
159 over the par 72, 6,615-yard course. Blue Hen freshmen
Devin Milowe (81-79=160) and Hall Chaney
(81-79=160) tied for 28th, freshman Ben Stranzl was
41st at 86-80=166, and freshman B.J. Jaworski was
45th with an 80-88=168.
Navy's Brian Crum was the individual
medalist as he shot 71-72=143, winning by three strokes over
runners-up Mark LeVeck of Iona and Keith Hendrickson of
Binghamton.
Delaware will continue action at the U.S.
Military Academy Tournament this weekend at West Point,
NY.
