McLister Leads Hens Again; Blue
Hens Place Fifth as a Team
TELFORD, PA -- Freshman Joe
McLister (Loudoun Co./Leesburg, VA) led the Blue Hens
for the second straight tournament as the University of
Delaware men's golf team placed fifth in the team standings
at the Don Mershon Classic Monday at Indian Valley Country
Club.
Host Lehigh won the team title with a
score of 618 over the two-day, 36-hole tournament led by
individual medalist Nam Kyu Park, who shot 72-77=149 over
the 6,859-yard, par 72 course. The first round was played
Sunday.
Siena also shot a team score of 618 but
placed second on a comparison of cards. Fordham was third at
625 followed by Drexel (626), Delaware (631), and Lafayette
(632) in the 16-team field.
McLister, who placed ninth at the
Rehoboth Invitational in the Hens' last outing Sept. 29, led
the Blue Hens again with a fourth place finish. He shot a 74
Sunday and a 78 Monday to finish with a score of
152.
Also for the Hens, junior Chase
Miller (Brandywine/Wilmington, DE) was ninth at 155
(78-77), junior Dan Spiker (Poolesville/Poolesville,
MD) placed 21st at 158 (79-79), freshman Tyler Kupper
(Weston/Weston, CT) placed 48th at 166 (80-86=166), and
freshman Ryan Burk finished 72nd at 178
(88-90).
Delaware will compete at the Hofstra
Invitational this weekend at Bethpage Golf Club in New York.
