NEWARK, DE -- Blue Hen golfer Tommy Ellison (at right) finished in a tie for 13th place while teammate Colin Smith tied for 15th place in the Delaware State Golf Association Amateur Championship held this week at Cavaliers Country Club.

Ellison, who will be a senior on the 2008-09 UD golf squad and will serve as team captain, shot a 76-71-74-79-300 to finish with a 16 over par score of 300 and tie for 13th place. Ellison, who led the Blue Hens with a 74.85 round average this past season, finished a team-best 15th at the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association Championships and was named the squad's Most Valubable Player.

Smith, who will be a sophomore in 2008-09, tied for 15th place after shooting a 17 over par score of 74-77-75-75-301. He ranked fifth on the team with a 76.63 round average and finished 14th at the Lafayette Invitational this spring.
