ANNAPOLIS, MD -- The University of Delaware is in second place out of 17 teams following the first day of the Navy Fall Classic Saturday at the Naval Academy Golf Course.

The Blue Hens shot a 296 on the first day of the two-day invitational, behind only North Carolina State, which shot a 279. Jason Bernstein (right) is tied for third in the individual standings after shooting a two-under-par 69.

Tommy Ellison shot a 74 for the Blue Hens, while Jeff Griest shot a 76 and Colin Smith shot a 77.
