ITHACA, N.Y. -- The University of Delaware golf team shot a one under par 287 to lead the 15-team field at the Cornell Invitational Saturday following the first day of the two-day tournament.
Blue Hen freshman Stephen Scialo (at right) led Delaware by shooting a three-under par 35-34-69 on the par 72, 6,826-yard course to place second overall in the individual standings. Justin Martinson is tied for fifth place after shooting a one under par 36-35-71, while Tommy Ellison shot a one over par 37-36-73 to tie for 13th place. Additionally Colin Smith shot a two over par 37-37-74 to tie for 20th place while Kevin McLister shot a three over par 39-36-75 to tie for 29th place.
Siena is one shot behind the Blue Hens with an even par score of 288, while Columbia sits in third place with a 290 team score.
Saturday's play was supposed to include two rounds, but play was halted after one round due to inclement weather.
Sunday's scheduled round was cancelled due to inclement weather.
