BETHANY BEACH, Del. -- Blue Hen sophomore Justin Martinson (at right) shot a one under par 71 Friday afternoon to lead the individual standings and the University of Delaware golf team sits in third place out of 20 teams following the first day of the George Washington Invitational.
Delaware recorded a 304 team score at the Bear Trap Dunes Golf Course, one stroke behind co-leaders Skidmore and Penn. Longwood and Colgate are each tied for fourth place with 305 team scores.
Tommy Ellison shot a three-over par 75 for the Blue Hens, while Colin Smith shot a 78, Kevin McLister shot an 80, and Greg Matthias shot an 81.
The 36-hole tournament concludes with a single round on Saturday.
