LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The University of Delaware golf team is tied for seventh place out of 15 teams on Monday following the first round of the Frank Landrey Fall Invitational hosted by Liberty University.
Two rounds were scheduled to be completed Monday but darkness halted the second round, which will resume Tuesday morning. The third and final round will also be played Tuesday.
The Blue Hens are led by sophomore Kevin McLister (at right), who is tied for seventh place in the individual standings after shooting a one under par 35-36-71 on the par 72, 7,186-yard course.
Senior Tommy Ellison is tied for 21st place after he shot a one over par 35-38-73, while sophomore Justin Martinson shot a three over par 38-37-75 to tie for 39th place. Freshman Stephen Scialo shot a 39-38-77 to tie for 53rd place at five over par.
Sophomore Colin Smith shot a nine over par 37-44-81 to finish in a tie for 77th place at nine over par.
The Blue Hens recorded a team score of 296, eight over par, and are tied for seventh place with host Liberty’s “B” team. Longwood leads the tournament at 286, followed by Presbyterian at 289 and Richmond at 290.
Fielding Brewbaker of James Madison leads the individual standings with a four under par score of 34-34-68, while five golfers are tied at two under par.
