RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware sophomore Justin Martinson was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Martinson, a native of Avondale, Pa. (Kennett HS), captured the George Washington Invitational over the weekend. He shot a one under par 71 Friday on the par 72, 6,843-yard course during the first round at Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club.
Martinson, a first year transfer from Charleston Southern, followed with a 74 on Saturday to finish with a two-day today of 145, one over par, to claim his first career individual title.
Martinson tied for 46th place by shooting a 73-79-152, 10 over par, Monday and Tuesday at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate held at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
