RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware sophomore Justin Martinson was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Co-Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Martinson, a native of Avondale, Pa. (Kennett HS), captured the Lafayette Invitational over the weekend. He shot a one over par 73 on the first round on the par 72, 6,916-yard course at the Center Valley Golf Club, and shot an even par 72 on Sunday to finish one over par.
Martinson finished the second round tied with Brendan Kelly of Villanova, but birdied the second hole in a sudden death playoff to claim his second individual title this spring. He also won the George Washington Invitational on March 20-21.
Martinson shared CAA Golfer of the Week honors with Tim Driver of James Madison and Allen John of Georgia State.
