Delaware Golfers Fourth Following First Round of Towson Invitational

GRASONVILLE, Md. -- The University of Delaware golf team recorded a 295 team score and is in fourth place out of 17 teams following the first round of the Towson Invitational on Saturday.

Kent State leads the field with a 285 team score, followed by William & Mary at 290, UNC Greensboro at 294, and the Blue Hens.

Senior co-captain Tommy Ellison (at right) is tied for seventh in the individual standings after he shot a one over par 37-36-73 at the par 72, 6,761-yard course at Prospect Bay Country Club.

Justin Martinson, Greg Matthias and Stephen Scialo are each tied for 15th place after shooting a two over par 74 during the first round. Additionally Mike Barrow shot an 11 over par 83 for the Blue Hens.

John Hahn of Kent State leads the tournament with a four under par score of 68 following the first round.

The invitational was scheduled to feature two rounds on Saturday and one on Sunday, but Saturday's second round is not expected to be completed today.
