Martinson Tied for Individual Lead, Blue Hens in Second Place Following First Day of Joe Agee Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- University of Delaware junior Justin Martinson (at right) shot an even par 71 on Saturday and is tied for the individual lead while the Blue Hens are in second place out of 11 teams following the first round of the Joe Agee Invitational at the Colonial Heritage Golf Club.

Martinson shot a 35-36-71 on the par 71, 6,773-yard course and is tied with three other players at the top of the individual standings. Bobby Fox of Longwood, Greg Brouse of George Mason and Conor O’Brien of William & Mary are also tied for the lead heading into Sunday’s final round.

Longwood leads the team standings halfway through the tournament with a 292 team score, just one shot ahead of the Blue Hens at 293. Old Dominion and Columbia are tied for third place at 294, while George Mason is fifth at 295.

Mike Barrow shot a two over par 34-39-73 on Saturday and is tied for 11th place following the first round, while current CAA Men’s Golfer of the Week Kevin McLister is tied for 15th place after shooting a three over par 36-38-74.

Stephen Scialo shot a four over par 36-39-75 and is tied for 23rd place, while Greg Matthias sits in a tie for 31st place after shooting a five over par 40-36-76.

The invitational concludes Sunday with another single round at the Colonial Heritage Golf Club.
