WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The University of Delaware golf team recorded a 285 team score on Sunday and finished with a two-round score of 578 to capture the Joe Agee Invitational this weekend.

The Blue Hens, who won the 11-team tournament by two strokes over Old Dominion, captured their second straight invitational after winning their own Scotty Duncan Memorial last Sunday and Monday. The two wins mark the first time that Delaware has won consecutive tournaments since the Blue Hens captured the West Chester Tournament and the East Coast Conference Championships in April, 1989.

The Monarchs were second with a 580 team score, while Longwood as third at 582. Fellow Colonial Athletic Association members Towson, which finished at 589, and George Mason, which finished at 591, rounded out the top five.

Delaware was led by senior captain Mike Barrow (at right), who shot a one under par 70 on Sunday, the lowest round of his Blue Hen career, on the par 71, 6,773-yard course at the Colonial Heritage Golf Club. Barrow finished in a tie for third place in the individual standings, the highest finish of his career, with a one over par score of 73-70-143.

UD junior Kevin McLister also shot a one under par 70 during Sunday’s round and finished in a tie for eighth place with a two-round score of 74-70-144, two over par. Fellow junior Justin Martinson tied for 12th place after recording a three over par score of 71-74-145.

Sophomore Stephen Scialo shot a 75-71-146, four over par, to tie for 15th place in the individual standings, while sophomore Greg Matthias finished in a tie for 33rd place after he shot an eight over par 76-74-150.

Eric Onesi of Old Dominion earned medalist honors with a one under par 74-67-141 to edge Brandon Parker of William & Mary, who finished at even par, by one stroke.

Delaware, which has now finished among the top five in 11 of 14 tournaments dating back to the start of the 2008 season, returns to action next weekend when the Blue Hens compete in the Seton Hall Invitational.
