BETHANY BEACH, Del. -- The University of Delaware golf team is in fifth place out of 16 teams on Friday followng the first two rounds of the George Washington Invitational.
After posting a 298 in their first round, the Blue Hens lowered their second round score to 295 and have a cululative 593 total through two rounds. Missouri leads the team standings with a 550 score, followed by Yale at 573, Towson at 583, George Washington "B" at 592, and the Blue Hens.
Delaware junior Justin Martinson (at right) sits in fourth place in the individual standings with a four under par score of 70-70-140 on the par 72, 6,834-yard course at Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club.
Stephen Scialo is tied for 25th place after shooting 72-76-148, four over par, while Mike Barrow shot 82-72-154, 10 over par, to tie for 46th place.
Bobby Arthur shot 82-73-155, while Kevin MCLister finished at 79-77-156. Greg Matthias posted a 77-81-156 score, while J.R. Fasy finished at 84-75-159.
The third and final round of the George Washington Invitatinoal will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
