KITTY HAWK, N.C. -- The University of Delaware golf team recorded a 315 team score and sits in 12th place out of 14 teams on Monday following the first round of the ODU Seascape Collegiate.
Old Dominion leads the tournament with a 298 team score, while George Washington (300), Longwood (304), Pennsylvania (305) and Towson (307) round out the top five.
Blue Hen sophomore Greg Matthias (at right) shot a three over par 38-35-73 on the par 70, 6,131-yard course and is tied for second place in the individual standings. Eric Onesi of Old Dominion leads the individual standings after shooting a one under par 34-35-69, while Matthias is one of five players tied for second place four shots back.
Sophomore Stephen Scialo is tied for 40th place after he shot a nine over par 40-39-79, while junior Kevin McLister shot 41-40-81, 11 over par, and is tied for 52nd place.
Junior Justin Martinson shot 44-38-82 to tie for 59th place at 12 over par, while senior Mike Barrow sits in 66th place after shooting 46-38-84, 14 over par.
The two-day tournament concludes Tuesday with another single round.
