Junior Mike Ladden shot his second straight 74 to place fourth overall and lead the University of Delaware men's golf team to a fourth place tie at the America East Championships Tuesday at Portland Country Club. Towson University captured its third conference title in four years with a team total of 597 during the two-day, 36-hole event to down Hartford (602) and Hofstra (618). Delaware, the defending team champion, tied host Maine for fourth place with 621. Ladden (Conestoga/Berwyn, PA), who placed second at the tournament a year ago, shot a two-day total of 74-74=148 to place fourth overall. Also for the Blue Hens, sophomore Graig O'Brien (Maloney/Meriden, CT) was 13th at 79-76=155, Mark Swinger (Liberty/Warrenton, VA) shot 80-79=159 and Ryan Hucker (Simsbury/ Simsbury, CT) shot 80-79=159 to tie for 18th place, and Ryan Morrissey (Cheshire/Cheshire, CT) shot 80-85=165 to tie for 30th place. Towson's Brad Foxwell won the individual title with a two-day total of three over 143, including a three under 67 on Tuesday on the 6,406-yard course.

Final Team Standings: 1. Towson - 597; 2. Hartford - 602; 3. Hofstra - 618; 4. Delaware and Maine - 621; 6. Boston U. - 640; 7. Vermont - 645; 8. Drexel - 651.
