Junior Mike Ladden fired a second day
score of 69 to finish seventh overall with a
tournament score of 143 to lead the University of
Delaware men's golf team to a 14th place team
finish at the Georgetown University Hoya
Invitational Sunday at Lansdowne Resort.
Georgetown's Andreas Huber shot a 68-70=138 and
defeated Eastern Michigan's Ed Maunder in a playoff
to win the individual title and lead the Hoyas to
the team crown. East Carolina was second followed
by Seton Hall and Navy in the 16-team field. Ladden
(Conestoga/Berwyn, PA) shot a 74 Saturday before
coming back with a three under par 69 on Sunday to
tie for seventh place. His 69 was a career low and
the best single round score for a University of
Delaware golfer since Gary Cecchet fired a
69 at Newark (Del.) Country Club in 1992. Also for
Delaware, Ryan Hucker was 44th at 72-80=152,
Graig O'Brien (77-79-156) and Jason
Phinney (77-79-156) tied for 58th place, and
Mark Swinger was 65th at 79-79=158.
