NEWARK, DE -- Senior guard Kestutis Marciulionis scored 21 of his game-high 23 points in the first half and senior forward Mike Pegues (DeMatha/Forestville, MD) added 19 points and became the all-time leading scorer in University of Delaware history as the Blue Hens romped over New Hampshire 102-55 in an America East men's basketball game Thursday night. The Blue Hens (15-4, 7-2 America East) won for the sixth time in the last seven games and extended the nation's 11th longest home winning streak to 17 games. New Hampshire (3-15, 2-8), which lost to Delaware 96-57 back on Jan. 4, committed 25 turnovers and shot just 30 percent from the field for the game. Freshman guard Marcelle Williams led New Hampshire with 11 points and seven rebounds while Chris Brown chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds. Marciulionis hit on five of eight three-pointers in leading a Blue Hen long range assault that resulted in 12 three-pointers in 25 attempts. Delaware 7-1 center Ndongo Ndiaye added 11 points, 14 rebounds, and seven blocked shots, forward Madou Diouf came off the bench to add 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, and Billy Wells added 10 points and seven assists. Pegues, the 1999 America East Player of the Year, also added seven rebounds and six assists and upped his career scoring total to 1,730 points, breaking the mark of 1,713 set by former teammate Greg Smith (1994-97), who was in attendance. The Blue Hens held New Hampshire scoreless for over eight minutes in the first half, using an 18-0 to go up 56-21 at halftime. The 35-point halftime lead was the largest ever for the Blue Hens in five seasons under head coach Mike Brey and largest since a 36-point halftime margin over Glassboro State Dec. 29, 1987 Delaware closed the game on a 13-0 run to go over the 100-point mark for the first time since a 104-63 win over Towson Jan. 5, 1977.
