Ryan Iversen

NEWARK, DE -- The University of Delaware bombed away for a school and America East conference record 18 three-pointers and five Blue Hen players scored in double figures in a 92-75 America East men's basketball victory over New Hampshire Thursday evening at the Bob Carpenter Center.

Delaware (3-4, 2-1 America East), which entered the game as the league's worst three-point shooting team at 28.5 percent, connected on 18 of 37 shots (.486) from beyond the three-point arc, surpassing the school record of 15 set vs. Howard last season and the league mark of 17 by Vermont vs. Middlebury Dec. 8, 1993. The Hens have now hit a combined 41 three-pointers in the last three meetings vs. New Hampshire. Delaware hit on 32 of 64 shots overall for the game.

New Hampshire (1-4, 0-1), which hit on 8 of its 15 shots from the three-point line, remained winless in 16 games in the state of Delaware (0-11 vs. Delaware). Wildcat sophomore Austin Ganly, the America East's leading scorer, erupted for a game-high 30 points and pulled a team-high eight rebounds while Chris Brown had 12 points. Colin Donahue dished out nine assists.

Senior guard Billy Wells led the Blue Hen assault with 22 points and five three-pointers while sophomore Ryan Iversen came off the bench to add a career-high 16 points and four three-pointers, sophomore Austen Rowland scored 16 points, hit four three-pointers, and dished out a career-high 14 assists, senior Greg Miller scored 15 points and hit five three-pointers, and senior forward Ajmal Basit hit for 12 points and pulled 15 rebounds. Rowland also pulled six rebounds and committed just one turnover to go with his 14 assists, the third highest single game mark in UD history.

Delaware took a 47-40 halftime lead and built the cushion to 14 points at 73-59 with 9:25 left in the game. But the Wildcats fought back and cut the lead to eight points at 78-70 with 4:22 remaining. Delaware kept firing away, hitting three three-pointers in the final 3:02 to keep the Wildcats at bay.
