Top of the World Classic - 2nd round Butler 76, Delaware 59 November 17, 2001 Dave Hindenlang led the Hens with 10 points FAIRBANKS, AK -- Senior center Scott Robisch hit on 11 of 14 shots from the field and finished with 24 points to lead Butler University to a 76-59 win over the University of Delaware in second round action of the BP Top of the World Classic Saturday night at the University of Alaska's Carlson Center. Butler (2-0), which returned virtually everyone from last year's 24-8 team that won a first round game in the NCAA Tournament, took advantage of 21 Delaware turnovers, including 10 in the first 11 minutes of play, to advance to the Top of the World Championship game Sunday vs. the University of Washington. The Blue Hens (1-1), who defeated Wichita State 62-47 in the tournament and season opener Friday, will meet Bowling Green (1-1) in the consolation game Sunday at 5 p.m. Eastern time. Bowling Green opened the tournament with an 82-78 win over 2001 NCAA Sweet 16 participant Mississippi before falling to Washington 81-74 on Saturday. "We got beat by a very good team tonight," said Delaware head coach David Henderson. "I thought we played hard but our mistakes and turnovers really hurt us. We are a young club and we are improving. We came out and competed against a championship calibre opponent and fought all night. Our guys have to understand that if they follow the game plan, we can compete at a high level." Delaware junior forward Dave Hindenlang led the way for the Blue Hens with 10 points while junior forward Maurice Sessoms added nine points and a game-high nine rebounds and Ryan Iversen chipped in with nine points, including two three-pointers. The Hens shot .457 from the field (21 for 46) but were hurt by 21 turnovers and 24 fouls. Robisch, the son of former NBA player Dave Robisch, was more than the Hens could handle inside as he worked his way for 24 points, including 14 in the second half, and pulled five rebounds. Bulldog guards Brandon Miller and Thomas Jackson each added 16 points with Jackson dishing out six assists. Butler committed just nine turnovers and shot 49 percent from the field (25 of 51). Butler jumped out to a 24-12 lead as the Hens committed 10 turnovers in the first 11 minutes and took a 40-32 advantage into intermission. The Bulldogs built on the lead in the second half, going up by 15 points at 53-38 with 13:36 left to play. The Blue Hens cut into the lead and pulled back to within eight points at 61-53 with 5:45 left, but Butler answered with a 10-0 run, including four inside baskets by Robisch, to put the game away.
