NEWARK, DE -- University of Delaware men’s basketball senior guard Andrew Washington was declared academically inelibigle prior to the Blue Hens’ game Saturday against Towson and will miss the remainder of the season.

Washington ranked second on the team with 12.6 points per game and was third with 3.8 rebounds per game. He scored in double figures in nine of his last 10 games, including a season-high 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting last Thursday at Northeastern.

Washington ranked third in the Colonial Athletic Association with 2.15 steals per game, ninth with a 49.6 field goal percentage, and 16th with 12.6 points per game.

A tranfer from Allen Community College in Kansas, Washington averaged 13.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 2004-05, his first season with the Blue Hens.
