NEWARK, DE – The University of Delaware grabbed the lead midway through the second half, but Cleveland State followed with a 8-0 run to take control and held on down the stretch for 59-53 non-league men’s basketball victory over the Blue Hens Sunday afternoon at the Bob Carpenter Center.

Cleveland State shot just 40 percent from the field (20 of 50), becoming the first UD opponent to shoot under 50 percent this season, but made up for it by converting 16 of 17 free throws for the game, including 11 of 12 in the second stanza.
The Blue Hens led by as much as seven points early in the game but Cleveland State fought back and took a 29-28 lead into intermission when Morris hit a layup just before the buzzer.

Johnson scored four points during the run. But Cleveland State answered back as Bullock paced an 8-0 run with six points of his own to give the Vikings the lead back at 48-41 with 8:17 remaining.
