Expected to challenge for playing time in the Blue Hen frontcourt • strong player who can shoot from the outside. 2007-08 Season: Underwent emergency surgery for compartment syndrome in his upper left arm during the preseason and missed the entire season • earned the Team Loyalty Award. 2006-07 Season: Sat out the season per NCAA transfer rules.

At Lafayette
2005-06 Season: Underwent open heart surgery prior to freshman season and sat out the season as a medical redshirt • transferred to Delaware in the summer of 2006.

High School
Named third team all-state by the Associated Press, first team All-South Jersey by the Camden Courier-Post, and second team All-South Jersey by the Philadelphia Inquirer as a senior • first team all-conference selection in 2005 when he led Cherry Hill East to a 20-5 record and the conference championship • McDonald’s All-American nominee • averaged 27 points and seven rebounds per game as a senior • made 145 three-pointers during senior season, including 13 three-pointers and 41 points in a win over Northwest Prep • three-year starter at Cherry Hill East who served as team captain during senior season • scored 1,122 career points • member of the Cum Laude Society • Student Government Association Vice President • served as chairperson of blood drive • qualified in the top 10 in the nation in the DECA (Delta Epsilon Chi Association) national event.

Brian D. Young • son of Barbara Young • has a sister, Courtney • finance major at Delaware • was a summer analyst for Deutsche Bank Capital Markets Group over the summer and as already accepted a full-time position with the company on Wall Street.
