Delaware at Hartford Invitational

WEST HARTFORD, CT -- The University of Delaware men's cross country team opened the 1999 season with a third place finish Saturday at the Hartford Invitational.

Mike DiGennaro led the Delaware men with a second place finish. DiGennaro completed the five-mile course in 26:27, eight seconds behind frontrunner Gregory Salamone of Marist. Peter Kelly was Delaware's next finisher in 13th place.

Maine won the men's team title with 36 points, also placing four runners in the Top 10.

Delaware hosts its first of two invitationals next Saturday at White Clay Creek State Park beginning at 10:30 a.m.
