 NEW ORLEANS -- For the third straight week, the University of Delaware men’s and women’s cross country squads kept their No. 14 rankings in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Region poll.
Both of head coach Jim Fischer’s squads will be off this weekend as they prepare for the Colonial Athletic Association Championships Oct. 31 at James Madison University’s New Market Battlefield Park Course.
The Delaware men’s and women’s teams are coming off strong performances last Saturday at their own Blue & Gold Invitational at White Clay Creek State Park. The UD women won the team title while the Blue Hen men finished second in the 14-team fields.
Georgetown remained as the top team in the men’s regional rankings for the fifth straight week while Villanova was at the top spot for the third straight week.
Georgetown was followed by Villanova, Princeton, Navy, Saint Joseph’s, Penn State, American, Bucknell, La Salle, Pennsylvania, Duquesne, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Delaware, and Temple.
Villanova was followed by West Virginia, Princeton, Georgetown, Penn State, Maryland, Bucknell, Pennsylvania, La Salle, Navy, Duquesne, George Washington, Saint Joseph’s, Delaware, and UMBC.
